Blade Shift DLC Update Bungles Sale Launch

Stellar Blade's highly anticipated update, Patch 1.009, featuring Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, has unfortunately introduced several game-breaking bugs. Shift Up, the developers, are working diligently on a hotfix.

Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix

Patch 1.009, while adding the Photo Mode and NieR: Automata crossover, has caused significant problems. Players report being softlocked during a main quest in an earlier dungeon, unable to progress. Further issues include game crashes when using the selfie camera in Photo Mode and cosmetic items failing to render correctly on Eve.

Shift Up advises against attempting to force quest progression. Instead, players are urged to wait for the hotfix patch to avoid permanent softlocks.

NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements

The NieR: Automata collaboration is a major highlight of Patch 1.009. The developers cite NieR: Automata as a significant inspiration, highlighting the collaborative effort between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro. Eleven exclusive collaboration items are available through Emil, a NieR character who's set up shop in the Stellar Blade world.

The much-requested Photo Mode is finally here! Players can now capture stunning images of Eve and her companions, with added photo challenge requests to encourage creative use of the feature. Four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after completing a specific ending) that alters Tachy Mode's appearance have also been added. A "No Ponytail" option enhances Eve's customization. Additional improvements include lip-sync support for six languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes for a smoother experience.
