"Alan Wake 2 Surpasses 2 Million Sales, Turns Profitable"

Alan Wake 2 has surpassed a significant sales milestone, reaching over 2 million units sold globally. This achievement marks a notable increase from the 1.3 million copies sold between October 2023 and March 2024, a period during which Remedy Entertainment celebrated the horror sequel as its fastest-selling game to date.

According to Remedy's recent financial report to investors, this sales success, along with the launch of The Lake House expansion and the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, has enabled the game to begin generating royalties. This development comes after the game has successfully covered its development and marketing expenses.

Looking to the future, Remedy is also making strides with other projects. Control 2, developed in collaboration with Annapurna, is nearing the end of its production readiness phase and is set to enter full production by the end of February 2025. Similarly, the Max Payne 1&2 Remake is progressing steadily in full production.

Remedy's multiplayer spin-off from the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak, is also advancing well. Following a successful closed technical test in December, which focused on matchmaking and back-end services, the game remains in full production. Remedy plans to self-publish FBC: Firebreak later in 2025.

CEO Tero Virtala expressed optimism about the company's current position and its ability to meet set targets in the upcoming strategy period.

In IGN's review, Alan Wake 2 received a stellar 9/10 rating, praised as a "superb survival horror sequel" that significantly outshines its cult classic predecessor.
