"2025's First Deadlock Update: Surprisingly Small"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 22,2025

Valve has returned from their New Year break, and game developers are now rolling out new updates across various titles. After Deadlock announced a shift from its bi-weekly update schedule, fans were anticipating a comprehensive patch. However, Valve opted for a more relaxed start to the year with a smaller update.

The latest patch focused solely on one hero: Yamato, who received a minor nerf. This included a reduction in damage scaling and a decreased attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, abilities such as Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

Given the size of this patch, it's probable that we'll need to wait a bit longer for a more substantial update. At this stage, pinpointing when that might happen is challenging.

It's important to mention that Deadlock has experienced a noticeable decline in its player base recently. This could be attributed to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, which has captured the attention of many gamers. Despite being in deep beta, Deadlock maintains a solid online player count ranging from 7,000 to 19,000. It's worth reminding fans that Valve has not yet disclosed any potential release dates or specifics about the game's monetization model.
