Sonic Galactic : un jeu de fans à la Sonic Mania

Sonic Galactic, un jeu créé par des fans de Starteam, capture l'esprit de Sonic Mania, attirant les fans du gameplay classique de Sonic et du pixel art. La communauté active de fans de Sonic produit continuellement des suites et des spin-offs, et Sonic Mania, une célébration du 25e anniversaire, reste l'un des favoris des fans. Bien qu'une véritable suite ne se soit jamais concrétisée en raison de l'éloignement de Sonic Team du pixel art et des autres projets des développeurs, Sonic Galactic vise à combler ce vide.

Développé sur quatre ans et initialement présenté à la Sonic Amateur Games Expo 2020, Sonic Galactic imagine un jeu Sonic 32 bits, rappelant une hypothétique sortie de Sega Saturn. Il allie une plate-forme 2D classique de style Genesis avec des ajouts uniques.

Caractéristiques du jeu :

La deuxième démo, sortie début 2025, présente le trio classique – Sonic, Tails et Knuckles – dans de nouvelles zones. À leurs côtés se trouvent Fang the Sniper (de Sonic Triple Trouble) et un nouveau personnage, Tunnel the Mole (inspiré de Illusion Island). Chaque personnage possède des parcours uniques au sein des niveaux.

Les étapes spéciales sont fortement inspirées de Sonic Mania, présentant des défis de collecte d'anneaux en 3D contre la montre. Une partie typique prend environ une heure pour terminer les étapes de Sonic, avec un temps de jeu supplémentaire offert par les niveaux plus courts des autres personnages, ce qui donne environ deux heures de jeu total.
