PictoQuest combine intelligemment la résolution d'énigmes avec des éléments de RPG. Les joueurs utilisent des indices de grille numérotée pour recréer des images. Cependant, les ennemis attaquent pendant que vous réfléchissez, ce qui rend la vitesse cruciale. Les points de vie agissent comme une minuterie, ajoutant un élément de pression.
