Breakout Beyond met un nouvel angle sur le briques classique d'Atari

Le jeu emblématique de 1976 d'Atari, Breakout, obtient une cure de jouvence moderne avec Breakout Beyond , une nouvelle interprétation du briqueur classique près de 50 ans plus tard. Développé par Choice Dispositions (créateurs de la série Bit.trip), cette itération conserve la mécanique de palette et de balle de base mais introduit une perspective de défilement latérale unique, déplaçant les joueurs de gauche à droite à travers l'écran.

L'objectif reste le même: Break Bricks! Alors que les joueurs construisent des combos, le spectacle visuel s'intensifie avec des lumières et des effets éblouissants. Les briques spéciales déclenchent des événements spectaculaires, des explosions massives à un puissant canon laser. Breakout Beyond possède 72 niveaux, plus un mode sans fin déverrouillable avec un classement en ligne pour un jeu compétitif. Pour ceux qui préfèrent une expérience collaborative, une coopérative locale à deux joueurs est également disponible.

Play initialement prévu en tant qu'Intellivision Amico exclusive en 2020, Atari a depuis acquis le projet et terminé son développement.

"Nous sommes ravis d'apporter ce jeu fantastique à nos joueurs", a déclaré Ethan Stearns, directeur senior de Games Publishing d'Atari. "L'équipe a reconnu l'éclat du concept - préserver l'essence de la rupture tout en réinventant complètement sa formule. La console Amico, annoncée initialement en 2018 avec une version projetée en 2020 , reste inédite, face à de nombreux revers et délaçants au fil des ans. Atari a acquis la marque Intellivision et la propriété intellectuelle l'année dernière , mais pas l'amico lui-même.
