Hold onto your needles, Hollow Knight fans! The SteamDB page for Silksong has been updated again, sending the dedicated community into its latest cycle of speculation. Is this finally a meaningful sign?

Overnight, Hollow Knight: Silksong received a quiet update on Steam. SteamDB tracked the change, noting one package was updated for the first time in over a year (thanks, Eurogamer). This immediately sent the rumor mill into overdrive, with players convinced something is brewing. Could a new trailer debut at Summer Game Fest? Might it feature in the upcoming Xbox Showcase? Or could we dare to hope for a surprise Nintendo Switch 2 shadow drop…?!

Several fans are convinced they have solid evidence that Hollow Knight: Silksong—or at least a build of it—has now "been uploaded to the Steam servers."

Team Cherry is famously secretive and operates on its own schedule, often leaving fans to analyze the tiniest, sometimes trivial, details. This time, however, the atmosphere feels different. The sequel from Team Cherry remains one of the most anticipated games globally, consistently topping Steam wishlists for years. Silksong made a brief appearance at Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct in April, and soon after, Team Cherry confirmed a 2025 release window, much to the relief of its incredibly patient fanbase. Now, with the news that the game will be playable at Australia’s ACMI museum from September 18th, some speculate a launch could happen even sooner. Of course, nothing is officially confirmed yet.
