Tute is one of the most beloved card games in Spain, and its popularity extends to Latin America as well. This engaging game can be enjoyed by 2 to 5 players individually, or four players can form teams of two for a more collaborative experience.
The objective of Tute is to be the first player or team to reach a predetermined number of points. The game uses a traditional Spanish deck consisting of forty cards.
In terms of card hierarchy and scoring, the order from highest to lowest is as follows: Ace (worth 11 points), 3 (10 points), King (4 points), Knight (3 points), Jack (2 points), followed by 7, 6, 5, 4, and 2. Note that the white cards (7, 6, 5, 4, and 2) carry no value.
Gameplay begins with the first card determining the suit to be followed. Each player must then play a card of the same suit. If a player lacks a card in the leading suit, they are free to play any card, including trump cards. The trick is won by the highest card of the trump suit if one is played; otherwise, the highest card of the leading suit takes the trick.
To maximize your score, don't forget to sing 20 and 40! Singing Tute can also lead to victory.
