How to Play Okey Game

Okey is traditionally played with four players, using a set of 106 tiles. These tiles come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue, numbered from 1 to 13, along with two special "fake Okey" tiles. At the start, tiles are shuffled and distributed automatically, with the player next to the dealer receiving 15 tiles, while the others get 14.

Players arrange their tiles using a cue stick to form groups or pairs. Undistributed tiles are placed in the center of the table, with one open tile serving as the indicator stone. The tile matching the indicator stone's color and number becomes the Okey Stone, which can substitute for any other tile in the game. Finishing the game with an Okey tile doubles the points earned.

In Okey, players aim to arrange their tiles into at least three sets, either in sequences of the same color or in groups of the same number across different colors. To end the game, a player must form seven pairs and discard their final tile to the center of the table.

The indicator rule adds a strategic layer to the game. At the start of a new game, the next player reveals the indicator tile. If it's colored as an Okey, other players lose 2 points; otherwise, no points are deducted.

The game concludes in various ways. A normal finish with a non-Okey tile results in a 2-point deduction from other players, while finishing with an Okey tile increases the deduction to 4 points. Completing the game with seven pairs deducts 4 points from opponents. Achieving a color finish, where all tiles are in the same color and sequentially from 1 to 13, resets other players' points to zero and ends the game. If all tiles are the same color but not in order, 8 points are deducted from other players.
