Experience the versatility of your device as a portable display with the High-Quality USB Camera Viewer & HDMI Display. To transform your device into a screen for your Camera, Gaming Console, Laptop, PC, or any device with HDMI output, you'll need an HDMI to USB C dongle, also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card. Note, this is not a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable. Additionally, cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are fully supported.
Noir enhances your viewing experience by supporting UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, allowing you to choose between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version provides basic functions and an immersive experience, albeit with ads (not shown during the preview). For an ad-free experience and additional features, consider upgrading to the pro version, which also supports the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir.

Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the device not being a Video Capture Card. In some cases, additional power might be required, necessitating a USB hub.
Why is the preview so laggy?
Lag often stems from using the wrong USB version. Ensure your USB 3.0 capture card is connected with a USB 3.0 cable and port. For USB 2.0 capture cards, use the MJPEG format and keep within 1080p30fps, though some support up to 1080p50fps.
Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
System issues are a common culprit. A simple restart of your phone or tablet can often resolve this.
Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
This issue is prevalent with PS5 and PS4 due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP in the PS console settings: Settings -> System -> HDMI. Note, PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Other devices may also enable HDCP, causing black screens. Some HDMI splitters can bypass this, but exploring this solution is left to the user.
Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
Current market capture cards mainly support these ratios. Use Noir's Stretch feature to adjust to your desired ratio, ensuring your capture card's EDID supports it and your device's output is set accordingly.
