  • The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 wrapped up over the weekend
  • Yangon Galacticos emerged victorious and claimed the championship title
  • Their win was secured by a commanding lead in total points

This past weekend marked the conclusion of the latest PUBG Mobile esports competition—the PMRC Rondo Cup—with Yangon Galacticos taking home the championship. The team is set to receive the largest portion of the $20,000 prize pool provided by PUBG.

As expected, the tournament was played on PUBG’s newest and biggest map to date, Rondo. Sixteen teams competed in the Cup, having qualified through various events such as D’Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall.

Yangon Galacticos’ victory came under the newly introduced SMASH format rules. According to these rules, a team needed to accumulate over 30 points and win a separate match to claim the title. However, after six rounds, no team met these conditions, so the trophy went to Galacticos due to their substantial points advantage.

With HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports finishing second and third respectively, the Rondo Cup has clearly been a success for PUBG Mobile and its growing esports initiatives, which have gained momentum since 2024.

That said, it is somewhat ironic that the debut of the SMASH rule did not result in a single win under that format. Tournament organizers will likely evaluate whether the rule encourages more skilled and exciting gameplay before deciding if it returns in future events.
