Xbox Series X|S Game Rankings

Following a strong showing at the Xbox Developer Direct to start 2025, Microsoft and its impressive lineup of first-party studios are looking strong. But which Xbox game series excites you most? Which provided the most enjoyment during the Xbox 360's heyday? Or, if you've never owned an Xbox, which series are you most anticipating on platforms like PlayStation, as Microsoft seemingly continues its plan to broaden its game library's reach?

There are countless legendary game series to choose from, especially considering Microsoft's acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard. This tier list includes any series associated with Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard, provided it has more than one entry—sorry, MachineGames and Indiana Jones! A sequel would certainly change that. This isn't an exhaustive list of *every* Xbox game series, but it aims to cover the most relevant and historically impactful ones. Here's my personal tier list, based entirely on my personal enjoyment over the years:

Doom easily earns an S-tier ranking for me; the recent entries are among my favorite first-person shooters, and Doom: The Dark Ages suggests id Software is maintaining its high standards. Forza Horizon also sits in S-tier—arguably, aside from Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, they're the best racing games I've ever played. Placing Halo in A-tier might raise eyebrows, but while Halo 2 and 3 boast phenomenal campaigns, I can't overlook recent inconsistencies to justify a higher placement. I also personally prefer Fallout to The Elder Scrolls. Power armor over dragons, any day!
