"We’re thrilled to announce the return of friend requests," Clayton stated. "Friends are now a two-way, invite-approved relationship, giving you more control and flexibility." This functionality will be accessible via the People tab on Xbox consoles.

The "follow" feature will remain, allowing users to follow content creators or communities without reciprocal approval. Existing friends and followers will be automatically categorized under the new system.
