WoW Unveils 2025's First 6-Month Subscription Deal

World of Warcraft has introduced a new set of in-game items for players who opt for a six-month subscription: the Timbered Sky Snake mount for modern WoW and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic. These rewards, inspired by the 2025 Zodiac Sign, will be available to subscribers by January 31, 2025.

Since 2018, World of Warcraft has rewarded players with bonus in-game items for choosing extended subscriptions. These rewards often align with the lunar Zodiac signs and are refreshed in January and July. Previous rewards included the Auspicious Arborwyrm for the Year of the Wood Dragon in 2024.

For 2025, the new six-month subscription offer features the Timbered Sky Snake, a flying mount for retail WoW representing the Year of the Wood Snake, and the Timbered Air Snakelet, a pet for Cataclysm Classic. These items are available with a six-month subscription purchase, but can also be purchased separately in the in-game store for $25 and $10, respectively. The Timbered Sky Snakelet, a pet for modern WoW, is available for $10 on the Battle.net shop, but is not part of the subscription reward.

Players currently on recurring subscriptions will also receive these new items. Both the mount and pet will be added to eligible Battle.net accounts by January 31, 2025, and must be redeemed before the same date in 2026, when they will likely be replaced by items themed around the Year of the Fire Horse.

In addition to the six-month subscription rewards, 12-month subscribers will also receive the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, and the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic. These subscribers will also automatically receive the six-month subscription offer for July, making the 12-month option especially attractive for collectors.

World of Warcraft's 2025 roadmap includes significant updates for both retail and Classic versions. Retail WoW will see major patches, starting with 11.1, and possibly the introduction of player housing. Classic WoW will progress to Mists of Pandaria, with new anniversary realms advancing from vanilla to The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery entering its final phase. With such ambitious plans, securing a bulk subscription now is a smart move for any dedicated player.
