Conquer the Lifer: A Wuthering Waves 2.0 Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0's Rinascita region introduces challenging new Tacet Discords, including the Lifer—a formidable variant of the Chop Chop found in Oakheart Highcourt's maze. This guide details how to overcome this unique enemy.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a massive tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer's Board Game Challenge

Inside, you'll find the Lifer and a six-piece board game. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces) does. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and re-enter the game, preserving piece positions. Winning the game isn't necessary to fight the Lifer, but it's crucial for debuffing him.

Stripping the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs, significantly increasing its difficulty. Four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance; three are permanent. A yellow module behind the Lifer displays its buffs.

Removable Buffs (Fragility):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery (10% Max HP/second) after 2 seconds of inactivity.
  • Desire for Escape: ATK increased by 25%, further increasing by 25% every 20 seconds.
  • Impending Stalemate: ATK increases by 20% per hit (stacks to 4); stacks reset after 6 seconds without dealing damage.
  • Decay of Time: 200% resistance to all elemental damage types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc); Max HP increased by 25%.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Immobilization duration reduced by 50%.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP damage in a single hit.

Use the Sensor near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance. Manipulate the board game to open gates to four outer maze rooms, each containing a Stake and a winged statue. One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and the last has the Stake on a table. Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line turns yellow once a buff is removed.

Confronting the Lifer

After removing all four removable buffs, engage the Lifer. The battle becomes significantly easier. Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. Without the buffs, the Lifer's attacks pose minimal threat.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer include Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests (varying rewards per victory). You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, though no achievements are tied to this.

Lifer Achievements

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. Its mistakes will provide opportunities for victory.
