Warzone Bug Enables MW3 Camos on Black Ops 6 Weapons

Summary

  • Warzone bug allows MW3 camos to be applied to BO6 weapons.
  • Activating the bug requires a friend’s help and specific steps in a private Warzone match.
  • As an unofficial method, it may be fixed in an upcoming patch.

A Call of Duty: Warzone player uncovered a bug that lets users apply camos from 2023’s Modern Warfare 3 to Black Ops 6 weapons, a feature many fans think should be standard. Although Modern Warfare 3 weapons remain usable in Warzone, the top-performing weapons are often from Treyarch’s latest title, Black Ops 6, rendering previously earned camos obsolete.

As with past Call of Duty games, players are grinding Black Ops 6 to unlock coveted mastery camos. Unlike blueprints, camos are earned through in-game challenges without extra purchases. After securing one hundred headshots across multiple weapons and unlocking gold, diamond, and dark spine for nearly every weapon, players can claim dark matter. However, for those who already unlocked these mastery camos in Modern Warfare 3, they’re largely unusable in Warzone after Black Ops 6’s release—until this new bug emerged.

Warzone Player Uncovers Camo Bug for Black Ops 6

For players who earned weapon camos in Modern Warfare 3, a method now exists to equip them on Black Ops 6 weapons in Warzone. Since this isn’t an official feature, Treyarch and Raven Software may patch it in a future update. The technique, shared by Twitter user BSPGamin and reported by Dexerto, was demonstrated in a brief video.

This method requires a friend’s assistance and can’t be done solo. Start by launching a private Warzone match, equipping a Black Ops 6 weapon in the first loadout slot, and joining a friend’s lobby. Next, equip a Modern Warfare 3 weapon in the first loadout slot and rapidly select the desired camo. While spamming the camo selection, the host must switch to a private match. The friend then exits the private match, and the player must return to the weapon, repeatedly selecting the camo while the friend re-enters a private match. Once completed, the camo should appear on the Black Ops 6 weapon.

For players sticking with Black Ops 6 camos in Warzone but struggling to unlock mastery camos, Treyarch is developing a new challenge tracking feature for Black Ops 6. This feature, last seen in 2023’s Modern Warfare 3, was missing from the latest title, disappointing fans. Fortunately, Treyarch has confirmed its return in an upcoming update.
