Warframe: 1999 Unveiled at TennoCon 2024

Warframe's TennoCon 2024 delivered a massive surprise: Warframe: 1999! This ambitious update transports players to a retro-futuristic 1999, battling a Y2K-fueled Techrot virus in the neon-drenched city of Höllvania.

The adventure begins with a prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," launching in August 2024. This quest reintroduces a beloved character and sets the stage for the main 1999 storyline, arriving in Winter 2024. Completion of "The Lotus Eaters" is required to access the 1999 content. Sevatgoth Prime and exclusive weaponry will also debut with this prologue.

Explore Höllvania on Atomicyles, futuristic vehicles allowing bullet jumps, drifts, and explosive maneuvers. Players will control the Hex, a team of six unique characters, each sporting a Protoframe Warframe revealing the human beneath. The team boasts a stellar voice cast including Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina, and Amelia Tyler. Engage in instant messaging interactions with the characters to deepen your connection.

Face off against On-lyne, a 90s boy band infected by Technocyte Coda, whose catchy tunes are available on streaming services. Their hit single, "Party of Your Lifetime," perfectly captures the era's vibe.

A significant upgrade to Warframe's fashion system is also included. Dual fashion frame loadouts allow seamless switching between styles, while the new Gemini Skins bring the Protoframes, like Arthur and Aoi, into the Origin System. These skins feature fully voiced lines, enhancing the experience.

Beyond the core gameplay, Digital Extremes is collaborating with THE LINE to create an anime short film based on Warframe: 1999, launching later this year. Additionally, new Heirloom skins for Ember (available now) and Rhino (early 2025) are also planned.
