The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 premiere date revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025: May 4, 2025.

IGN unveiled an exclusive clip and interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) during Fan Fest 2025 Day 2.

Cohan described Maggie's emotional state entering Season 2: "Unfortunately, things aren't as idyllic as one might hope," she explained. "Navigating family life with a teenage son and Ginny in my care presents relatable domestic challenges amidst the apocalyptic backdrop. Survival, safety, and even sleep are constant concerns before the next major threat arises."

PlayMorgan discussed Negan's shift from villain to fan favorite and his current predicament: "Negan is firmly under the control of The Dama and The Croat, in unfamiliar territory," he stated. "He'll scheme to regain control, but he's in a tough spot, struggling initially." He also reflected on Lucille, his iconic barbed-wire bat: "Lucille...what can I say? I love it! It's the only prop I've ever enjoyed carrying around. It brings back fond memories – though not for Lauren!"

Gimple teased the Season 2 conflict: "There's no single main antagonist. Power dynamics shift constantly. It's more complex, political, and then it gets physical."

IGN also shared the opening minutes of Season 2's premiere episode.
