To unlock the crafting recipes for upgraded weapons, you'll need to acquire the Gunsmithing skill, a crucial survival skill that can be learned from the Crafting Manual. Obtaining this manual can be challenging, but there's a direct method involving Morris Wick at the Village Shop in Wyndham.

Upon entering St. Katherine's Church, you'll uncover a murder mystery involving Maisie, with the Vicar trying to hush it up. Further investigation will lead you to evidence that implicates Morris. This evidence is located in the Brewery Cellar at coordinates 30.5 E, 80.5 N in the west of Wyndham Village. Inside the cellar, find and read the note titled "Kill the One They Call Maisie".

Return to Morris' Village Shop at 33.3 E, 79.9 N and confront him with the evidence. Use dialogue options to pressure him subtly without making direct threats until you reach the "Bargaining" choice. Selecting this will result in Morris handing over the Crafting Manual in exchange for your silence about his involvement in the crime.
