Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide

Your journey begins in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital, and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by ditching any unnecessary loot and arming yourself. A Rifle is a solid choice here; it costs just $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most enemies for a while. Don't forget to stock up on coal to fuel your boat's old-school engine.

Your next destination is 10,000m away. Just fire up the engine and you're on your way. While you can stop to take down Zombies and Drowned, it's not always worth it as the houses on the sides don't offer much. To restart your ship, simply add more coal. Ignore the worm on the right side; it's harmless. Hold onto your loot until you reach the second safe zone to sell, but stay alert for Big Foot and Zombie mobs on both sides of the river.

After the second safe zone/town, you'll find burning buildings teeming with enemies. Clear them if you're with friends, but solo players should skip them due to the unpredictable spawn points. At around 12,000m, there's a castle-like house full of Drowned and valuable loot like Shotgun ammo. Use it wisely.

Dead Sails Kraken Tips and Tricks

By now, the gameplay loop is clear: kill, loot, repeat and hope for enemy defeat. To excel, use your boat as your main inventory. Clear your bag when you return to the boat to save time and space.

Efficiency is key. Stack Zombies near the incinerator to save time in those backwater towns. Short on fuel? Toss a few Zombies in and you're set.

Keep an eye on Sheriff's offices; they often have a high concentration of mobs but offer rewarding loot like weapons and ammo. I managed to keep my shotgun stocked by having a friend clear the ground floor during town sweeps.

Save your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress around 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it a prime spot for ambushes. Bring at least three people, ideally a full five-stack, and be efficient with your loot collection.

Avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m. They're tough, ammo-intensive, and hit hard. Don't linger; plan your stops carefully. Remember, loot isn't everything.

The town after 50,000m is a great farming spot with plenty of Drowned and Zombies. It's an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel. Coordinate with your team to prep the bodies for loading quickly.

In the final safe zone, sell your loot and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on Zombies and Drowned; you'll need at least 8-10 corpses for fuel during the final stretch. As you approach 100,000m, you'll reach open waters, ready to face the beast. The sky will darken, signaling its arrival.

When the Kraken emerges, everyone must pick a tentacle. The boss has a lot of health, and each tentacle can attack if not repelled. With five people, form a pentagram-like shape and focus on your assigned tentacle.

Beware of the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage. It's telegraphed by the Kraken winding back and creating a water trail with the tentacle. Use medkits liberally as some damage is unavoidable.

Lastly, watch out for the Roar AoE, which causes minor damage and seems to buff the boss slightly. It's signaled by white concentric circles from the tentacle that used the ability.
