Genshin Impact 5.0 Update Leaks Reveal New Dendro DPS Character and Natlan Region Details

A recent Genshin Impact leak offers exciting details about a new five-star Dendro DPS character slated for release with the highly anticipated 5.0 update, which will introduce the Natlan region. HoYoverse has confirmed Natlan's arrival following the conclusion of Fontaine's storyline. This new region promises a wealth of new content, including unique landscapes, characters, weapons, and storylines. Known for its fiery Pyro element and its association with warfare, Natlan is ruled by the Pyro Archon, Murata, also known as the God of War.

Leaker Uncle K has revealed that the new Dendro character will be a male Claymore wielder, a first for a five-star Dendro unit. His abilities will center around the Bloom and Burning elemental reactions. Bloom, triggered by combining Dendro and Hydro, creates explosive Dendro Cores. Burning, a simpler reaction combining Dendro and Pyro, applies a damage-over-time effect.

Community Concerns Regarding the Burning Reaction

The reliance on the Burning reaction raises concerns among some fans, as it is generally considered weaker than other Dendro reactions. This contrasts with the upcoming 4.8 update, which introduces Emilie, a five-star Dendro support character. While originally designed around Burning, Emilie's kit has reportedly been buffed to offer greater flexibility in team compositions.

Further Update 4.8 Speculation and Future Characters

The only character currently confirmed for 5.0 is Natlan's Pyro Archon, whose debut is eagerly awaited. The 4.8 Special Program, anticipated around July 5th, may reveal additional Natlan characters. Leaks also suggest that Columbina, the Third Fatui Harbinger, will serve as the main antagonist in the Natlan arc. This powerful Cryo character is rumored to become playable in 2025.
