Pokemon GO's GO Tour: Unova Event Brings Black and White Kyurem!

Get ready, Pokemon GO trainers! Black and White Kyurem are finally arriving in Pokemon GO as part of the global GO Tour: Unova event, taking place March 1st and 2nd. These highly anticipated legendary Pokemon will be available in raids, offering a chance to catch their shiny forms. Plus, the event features special in-game backgrounds inspired by the original Pokemon Black and White games.

The arrival of Black and White Kyurem fulfills a long-standing wish for many fans. These powerful Pokemon have been highly sought after since their accidental, brief appearance in 2023. After a period of uncertainty, Niantic has confirmed their official debut during this Unova-themed event.

The GO Tour: Unova event runs globally from 10 AM to 6 PM local time on March 1st and 2nd. Trainers can encounter Black and White Kyurem in raids and attempt to catch their elusive shiny variants.

Fusion Frenzy: Creating Black and White Kyurem

Similar to last year's Necrozma fusion event, players can fuse Kyurem with other legendary Pokemon. Black Kyurem can be combined with Zekrom, while White Kyurem fuses with Reshiram. Each fusion requires 1,000 Fusion Energy (Volt or Blaze, respectively), along with 30 Kyurem Candy and 30 of the partner Pokemon's Candy. Separating the fused forms is free. The necessary Fusion Energy is earned by defeating Kyurem in raids.

These fused forms boast unique attacks: Black Kyurem learns Freeze Shock, and White Kyurem masters Ice Burn.

Exclusive Event Backgrounds

The GO Tour: Unova event also includes special backgrounds themed after Pokemon Black and White. Successfully fusing Black Kyurem with Zekrom or White Kyurem with Reshiram unlocks one background each, with a bonus background awarded for completing both fusions.
