Looking back on the past year? Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap feature offers a fun and easy way to revisit your 2024 memories. Unlike detailed statistical recaps from other platforms, Snap Recap presents a curated selection of your Snaps, showcasing one memorable moment from each month.

What is Snap Recap?

New for 2024, Snap Recap compiles your year's Snapchat content into a short video montage. It's a less data-driven approach than similar year-end features, focusing on a visual journey through your year. After the Snap Recap concludes, it seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from past years.

Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap

Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and readily accessible. Simply swipe up from the main camera screen (avoiding the shutter button) to open Memories. The Snap Recap video will be prominently displayed.

Tap the video (avoiding the share icon) to begin playback. The recap automatically advances through your chosen monthly Snaps. You can tap the screen to manually navigate if desired. Like any other Snap, you can save, edit, or share your recap, including posting it to your Story.

Why You Might Not Have a Recap

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout, meaning yours may still be processing. The frequency of your Snap usage also plays a role; consistent use is more likely to generate a recap. Unfortunately, if a recap isn't generated, there's no way to request one.
