Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to your daily dose of SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! We'll cover the news, showcase today's eShop additions, and round up the latest sales—both new and expiring. Let's dive in!

News

Partner/Indie World Showcase: A Bounty of Games

Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved a smart move, delivering a wave of announcements. Highlights include surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remakes, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new entries in the Atelier and Rune Factory franchises, and much more. Watch the video for the full rundown—it's worth your time!

New Game Spotlights

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A fantastic surprise! This third Castlevania compilation features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the infamous arcade game, Haunted Castle, along with an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. This collection offers exceptional emulation and features, providing incredible value for its price.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer is a whirlwind of frantic action. Conquer the five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will find this irresistible, but even those without strong Wario ties should consider this exciting platformer. A review is forthcoming.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

Another unexpected release! It's Goat Simulator 3, the chaotic goat simulator you know and (maybe) love. While performance on the Switch remains to be seen (given past issues on more powerful systems), its inherent absurdity might even enhance the experience. Prepare for silly goats, silly antics, and potential Switch overheating.

Peglin ($19.99)

A game that fills a void left by EA's absence from the Switch market. For Peggle enthusiasts, Peglin is a must-have. This mobile hit now graces the Switch, blending Peggle mechanics with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. A review is on its way.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft’s familiar shop simulation formula gets a Doraemon makeover. Featuring characters from the beloved manga and anime, this title offers a charming take on the classic formula, even including cameos from the creator's other works.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park for existing fans. Support for up to eight players (local or online) makes this cooperative puzzle game even more engaging. While not drastically different from the first game, it's a solid addition for those who enjoyed the original.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game showcasing Kamitsubaki Studio's music. Simple, fun, and budget-friendly.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban experience starring a penguin. One hundred levels of crate-pushing await.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Utilize character abilities and drawing mechanics to solve puzzles, either solo or with up to four players (local or online).
