Switch eShop Roundup: August 29th, 2024 - New Releases and Sales!

Hello gaming enthusiasts! Welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 29th, 2024. Today's update is packed with new game releases, a significant number of sales, and... well, that's pretty much it! No Nintendo Direct today, but plenty to keep you busy. Let's dive in!

Notable New Releases

Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club ($49.99)

The Famicom Detective Club returns after a long hiatus! This new entry stays true to the originals, offering a fresh mystery with a similar presentation to the Switch remakes. Solve a new serial murder case – my review is coming soon!

Gundam Breaker 4 ($59.99)

Mikhail's comprehensive review covers everything you need to know about Gundam Breaker 4's gameplay and Switch performance. In short: build and battle Gunplas! While performance might lag behind other versions, it's still a solid experience. Check out Mikhail's in-depth review for all the details.

Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn ($19.99)

Tengo Project continues its streak of excellent remakes! This time, they've tackled an 8-bit classic, resulting in a game quite different from the original. If you enjoy classic-style action-platformers, this is worth a look. My review will be available early next week.

Valfaris: Mecha Therion ($19.99)

A Valfaris sequel with a twist! This is a 2.5D side-scrolling shooter, a departure from its predecessor. While the genre shift might surprise some, it's a fun experience. My review is on its way!

Nour: Play With Your Food ($9.99)

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this one, but the food imagery is stunning. Play with food? Take photos? Uncover secrets? Perhaps Mikhail will investigate further – it seems right up his alley.

Monster Jam Showdown ($49.99)

For monster truck enthusiasts, this game delivers local and online multiplayer, various modes, and plenty of action. Reception on other platforms was mixed, but if you're a fan, it might be worth checking out.

WitchSpring R ($39.99)

A possible remake of the original WitchSpring, this entry looks like the best in the series so far. However, the price point is nearing that of a full-fledged Atelier game, which might give some pause.

Depths of Sanity ($19.99)

An underwater exploration game with a fantastical horror twist. Uncover the mystery of your missing crew in a vast, dangerous underwater world. Combat is involved, and it's well-received on other platforms.

Voltaire: The Vegan Vampire ($19.99)

A farming-action game with a unique premise: a vegan vampire rebelling against his blood-sucking father. If you enjoy farming sims with a side of action, this might appeal to you.

Marble Abduction! Patti Hattu ($11.79)

A classic marble roller game with 70 stages and 80 marbles to collect. Features secret collectibles and special challenges.

Leo: The Firefighter Cat ($24.99)

A kid-friendly firefighting game with 20 missions.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage ($21.99)

A gory action game featuring a hoverboarding cat. While the gameplay is decent, the Switch version reportedly suffers from technical issues.

Arcade Archives Finalizer Super Transformation ($7.99)

A relatively obscure 1985 Konami vertical shooter featuring a transforming robot protagonist.

EGGCONSOLE Xanadu Scenario II PC-8801mkIISR ($6.49)

An early expansion pack for Xanadu, featuring the debut work of legendary composer Yuzo Koshiro.

The Backrooms: Survival ($10.99)

A horror-survival-roguelite game best enjoyed with up to ten online players.

Can of Wormholes ($19.99)

A clever puzzle game where you are a sentient tin can battling worms.

Ninja I & II ($9.99)

Two NES-style microgames featuring ninjas.

Dice Make 10! ($3.99)

A surprisingly fun dice-based puzzle game.
