Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception to last year's Helldivers 2, is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt recently solicited fan input on social media, sparking a flurry of suggestions.

Community ideas ranged from a Smash TV remake to projects inspired by Star Fox. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and hinted at a Star Fox-esque title within the "rail game" genre.

While specifics remain undisclosed, Arrowhead's community engagement is evident. The studio's next project has high expectations to meet, following the phenomenal success of Helldivers 2, a standout title of 2024.

A recent update for Helldivers 2 has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. The Omens of Tyranny expansion, surprise-released at the 2024 Game Awards, has been well-received. This update introduced the much-anticipated Illuminate enemy faction, a 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps. With a rumored Killzone crossover also on the horizon, Helldivers 2 appears poised for continued success in 2025.
