The mobile gaming sensation, Monopoly Go, is set to captivate fans once again with an exciting new collaboration with the Star Wars universe. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this partnership will run from May 1 through July 2 and draws inspiration from iconic moments across the Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian series.

During this Star Wars season, players will encounter beloved characters reimagined in charming cartoon styles, adding a fun twist to the classic Monopoly experience. The update introduces a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to collect and complete, along with thrilling podracing events set in the Mos Espa Grand Arena. Fans can also look forward to collecting unique in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis, all while seeing iconic figures like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't the first time Monopoly Go has embraced a crossover event; last September, the game featured a Marvel-themed collaboration, bringing characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into the Monopoly universe.

In other news, publisher Scopely recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now from Niantic, signaling a major move in the mobile gaming industry.

According to a report from GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has solidified its position as the top game for consumer spending in 2024, generating an impressive $2.47 billion. The game also boasts 150 million downloads and 10 million daily active users, showcasing its widespread appeal and success in the mobile gaming market.
