Elliot Page to Reimagine Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls as a TV Series

Elliot Page, the original star of Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls, is spearheading a television adaptation of the acclaimed PlayStation adventure game. Page's production company, Pageboy Productions, has secured the rights from Quantic Dream, according to Deadline.

The project, currently in its early stages, aims to retain the game's signature non-linear storytelling. While specifics regarding casting and release dates remain undisclosed, Page expressed his enthusiasm, describing his original role as "one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences" of his career. He further emphasized the intention to craft a compelling narrative that resonates with both existing fans and new audiences.

Matt Jordan Smitt, head of development and production at Pageboy, highlighted the team's commitment to honoring the game's legacy while incorporating fresh perspectives. He underscored the importance of exploring themes of survival and the far-reaching consequences of pivotal decisions.

Originally released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Beyond: Two Souls later saw releases on PlayStation 4 (2015) and PC (2019). The game, directed and written by David Cage, centers on Jodie Holmes, a young woman with psychic abilities and her connection to a spirit named Aiden. Its non-linear structure, showcasing various stages of Jodie's life, and its star-studded cast, including Page and Willem Dafoe, garnered significant attention.

David Cage confirmed his collaboration with Page on the TV series, although the precise extent of his involvement is yet to be revealed. Cage expressed his excitement about the project, praising Page's performance and confidence in his ability to translate the story's emotional depth to the television medium.

While a release date remains distant, IGN's original review of the game can be found here, alongside a compilation of all Quantic Dream game reviews here.
