A Family-Friendly Phenomenon: Astro Bot's Triumph

This success, highlighted by Sony's Q3 earnings announcement on February 13, 2025, has prompted PlayStation to invest further in the family gaming genre.

Reviving Legacy IPs?

PlayStation's history boasts several family-friendly franchises, including Sly Cooper, Ape Escape, and Jak and Daxter, which have remained largely dormant for over a decade. With Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon now under Xbox's umbrella, Ratchet & Clank and LittleBigPlanet remain as recent examples of PlayStation's foray into family gaming, alongside the breakout success of Astro Bot.
