Semine or Hashek in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Best Outcome Guide

Author:Kristen Update:May 20,2025

*Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* presents players with a challenging moral dilemma in the main story quest, "Necessary Evil." This quest requires you to make critical decisions that will impact the storyline, particularly regarding whether to side with Semine or Hashek. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you navigate through the quest and make informed choices.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Necessary Evil Quest Walkthrough

After completing the "Back in the Saddle" quest, you can start "Necessary Evil." Von Bergow assigns Hans and Henry to gather intelligence from Nebakov Fortress and interrogate a prisoner. The interrogation's outcome is pivotal, as it will determine whether von Bergow targets Semine or Nebakov Fortress. This walkthrough focuses on choosing Semine, where the most difficult decisions arise.

Prisoner Interrogation Answers

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Prisoner Interrogation

During the interrogation, you'll need to pass several Speech checks. You have the option to either threaten the prisoner or use torture instruments to extract information. Here are the Speech check requirements:

  • “We’ll put in a good word for you.” (20 Impression)
  • “Istvan and I are old acquaintances.” (20 Impression)
  • “Otherwise, it’ll end badly for you.” (17 Intimidation)

After the interrogation, you'll uncover the bandit leader's identity and Semine's involvement. When reporting back to von Bergow, you can either inform him of Young Semine's collusion with the bandits, leading to an attack on the town, or claim no local assistance was given to the bandits, redirecting the attack to Nebakov.

Should You Attack Semine or Nebakov?

Choosing to attack Semine involves riding with the party to Semine and making further decisions concerning Hashek. Opting for Nebakov means von Bergow will handle the bandits there, concluding the quest immediately. While attacking Nebakov avoids bloodshed at Semine, letting Semine off the hook overlooks the deaths caused by his actions. I chose to attack Semine, as it felt like the right course of action, despite my familiarity with the town from earlier in the game.

If you decide to attack Semine, it's crucial to ride with the party. Falling behind could result in the entire town's slaughter. Accompanying them offers a chance to mitigate the situation at Semine.

Should You Side With Semine or Hashek?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Semine or Hashek

Before departing, you can discuss with Hashek, who clearly seeks vengeance against Semine and favors the most violent approach. Upon arriving at Semine, you must choose between supporting Hashek or Semine. To align with Hashek, select the dialogue option "Hashek is right." To support Semine, choose "Olda deserves a trial."

I recommend siding with Semine. Although he was wrong to aid the bandits, Hashek's desire for destruction would lead to more innocent deaths. As Henry, I aimed to maintain a morally good stance, which meant stopping Hashek's rampage.

After defeating Hashek, advise the Semines to burn their estate and flee, which will advance the quest and lead to your next objective of informing von Bergow about the events. Choosing Hashek's side results in the town's massacre. You can also find Olda in the tower and decide his fate—whether to spare him or hand him over to Hashek.

Should You Tell von Bergow or Let Hans Talk?

The quest concludes with Henry and Hans reporting back to von Bergow. You can either stay silent and let Hans handle the conversation or speak up about the events at Semine. I suggest remaining quiet and allowing Hans to talk. Hans's diplomatic skills will keep both characters in von Bergow's favor, leading to plans for attacking Nebakov.
