Scammers are distributing fake invitations to test Elden Ring Nightreign

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 19,2025

Bandai Namco is sending out emails inviting players to a closed beta test for Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14-17, 2025. The test will focus on the game's three-person cooperative mode.

However, be warned! Due to the game's popularity, fraudulent invitations are circulating. Scammers are sending emails mimicking official Bandai Namco communications, containing links to fake websites designed to steal player accounts. These sites often resemble Steam.

These scams often involve requests to log in, leading to account compromise. Some players have even received these fraudulent messages from compromised friends' accounts. While some victims have recovered their accounts through Steam support, caution is paramount. Always verify the authenticity of any email or link before clicking. If in doubt, consult official Bandai Namco channels.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, citing the approximately forty-minute session length as insufficient time for players to effectively send and read messages. The feature was disabled to optimize the limited playtime.
