Ryan Gosling in Star Wars Film Directed by Deadpool & Wolverine's Helmer

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 13,2025

Exciting news for Star Wars fans: Shawn Levy, the director behind *Deadpool & Wolverine*, is reportedly in negotiations to bring Ryan Gosling into the galaxy far, far away. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Levy's Star Wars project, which he has been developing since 2022, might be moving forward with Gosling as a potential star. The script, penned by Jonathan Tropper, who previously collaborated with Levy on *This Is Where I Leave You* and *The Adam Project*, has been in the works since last year.

While the details of the plot remain under wraps, it's known that this film will be a standalone adventure, separate from the iconic Skywalker Saga. This means fans can expect a fresh story set in a new era of the Star Wars universe, though specifics about Gosling's role and the timeline are still undisclosed.

The involvement of Ryan Gosling has seemingly accelerated the project. Originally, Levy was slated to direct a boy band movie featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. However, if Gosling officially joins the Star Wars film, production could start as early as this fall, making it Levy's next directorial venture.
