Rumored Jet Set Radio Remake Leaked Images Hit Internet

Alleged Leaks Surface for the Upcoming Jet Set Radio Remake

Rumors are swirling around the internet regarding leaked images and gameplay footage from Sega's highly anticipated Jet Set Radio remake. The remake, confirmed last December, is part of Sega's broader initiative to reintroduce classic titles to a new generation of gamers.

While Sega remains officially silent post-Game Awards 2023 announcement, leaker Midori (who has since deleted their social media accounts) has previously offered insights into several Sega remakes, including Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Fighter, and Golden Axe. Midori reportedly distinguished between a planned reboot (a live-service game with events and customization) and a separate, traditional remake.

Twitter user MSKAZZY69 shared four screenshots purportedly from the remake's development build, attributed to Midori. These images include map views and gameplay segments. MSKAZZY69 further claimed the remake is a "complete, open-world remake, totally separate from the reboot," aligning with Midori's earlier descriptions of graffiti, shooting mechanics, and explorable Tokyo environments with a new storyline.

Further fueling speculation, a YouTube video emerged showcasing gameplay that visually matches the leaked screenshots. Both the images and video present a modernized, more realistic art style compared to the original game, featuring updated character and environment designs. The video depicts protagonist Beat engaging in graffiti art, performing skating maneuvers, and navigating Tokyo's cityscape.

Despite the buzz generated by these leaks, the Jet Set Radio remake remains several years away, with a potential release date no sooner than 2026. The authenticity of the leaked materials remains unverified, especially given Midori's absence from social media. Other classic Sega game remakes, including Alex Kidd and House of the Dead, are also rumored to be in development. Until Sega provides official confirmation, all unofficial reports should be treated with caution.
