Rumor: One of the Biggest Xbox Franchises Reportedly Coming to Switch 2, PS5

Major Xbox Franchises Poised for Multi-Platform Release on PS5 and Switch 2

Rumors are swirling that two major Xbox franchises, Halo and Microsoft Flight Simulator, are slated for release on PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Industry insider NateTheHate, a known leaker, claims to have heard that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be ported to both consoles, with a potential 2025 launch. The same source suggests that a Microsoft Flight Simulator title, likely the recently released MFS 2024, will also make the jump to these platforms sometime in 2025.

This news follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to broaden the availability of its first-party titles. Games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves have already seen multi-platform releases, with As Dusk Falls and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 following suit. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also expected on PS5 in Spring 2025.

Adding further weight to these claims, another reputable leaker, Jez Corden, tweeted that significantly more Xbox games will be released on PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025. Corden has consistently predicted the end of the era of exclusive Xbox titles.

The future of Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms is also noteworthy. Microsoft's ten-year agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to their consoles is likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2, better equipped to handle the game's graphical demands.

In short: The gaming landscape is shifting. Expect to see more Xbox titles on competing consoles in the coming year, with Halo and Microsoft Flight Simulator potentially leading the charge.
