Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year wait, this update is exclusively for mobile users, leaving console and PC players out of the loop.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update brings new languages to the game and focuses on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to smooth out the gaming experience.

The update also introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users on compatible devices, refreshes the app icon, and adds haptic feedback for a more immersive feel on both iOS and Android.

Several mission-specific bugs have been squashed. For instance, the locker-picking issue in the mission 'That Bitch' with Mandy, the progression halt in 'Weed Killer' when breaking the window prematurely, and the glitchy police cars in 'The Rumble' that used to fall through the floor are now fixed. Additionally, the update corrects the bizarre scenario where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, ensuring fights are fair and fun again. It also resolves crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

Fans have been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but Rockstar seems to be focusing elsewhere. A sequel was rumored to be in development during the 2010s, but it was reportedly shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online.

With GTA 6 now on the horizon, the prospects of Bully 2 seem dim, especially given that many original developers have moved on from Rockstar. Although the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a welcome upgrade for mobile players.

For those new to the series, Bully offers Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics, where you step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials of Bullworth Academy.
