Following a minor leak last week, Electronic Arts (EA) has officially announced the title of their upcoming Star Wars game: Star Wars: Zero Company. The development is being led by Bit Reactor, with collaborative support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn. This exciting new entry into the Star Wars gaming universe promises to be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." While details are still scarce, fans won't have to wait long for more information, as EA plans to unveil a first look at the game during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan on April 19.

Bit Reactor, the studio behind Star Wars: Zero Company, is a fresh strategy game developer founded in 2022. The team comprises industry veterans who have contributed to renowned titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although it was known that Bit Reactor was collaborating with Respawn on a Star Wars project, this is the first time concrete details about the game have been shared.

Respawn's role in the development remains somewhat ambiguous. The studio has faced significant challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars first-person shooter (FPS) a year ago, accompanied by widespread layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month.

Additional information about Star Wars: Zero Company will be disclosed at a live panel scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at 4:30 PM local time in Japan. For fans in the U.S., this translates to an early morning reveal at 12:30 AM PT and 3:30 AM ET, so set your alarms to catch all the latest updates on this highly anticipated game.
