Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

Remedy Entertainment's latest annual report brings exciting news for fans, as Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now entered full production. This crucial milestone signifies that the project is advancing steadily, much to the anticipation of the gaming community.

In addition to Control 2, two other promising projects are also in active development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these titles were in the pre-production phase, but they have now progressed to the next stage of development. However, the project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been canceled and removed from Remedy's lineup since May of last year.

All of these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary Northlight engine, which has already demonstrated its capabilities in games like Alan Wake 2 and other successful Remedy titles.

In terms of budget, Control 2 is set with an ambitious allocation of 50 million euros. This highly anticipated sequel will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Meanwhile, FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This title will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, and will also be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 continue to be shrouded in mystery regarding their budget, but it's confirmed that they will be developed to AAA standards. The development and marketing efforts for these remakes are fully backed by Rockstar Games, ensuring a high-quality experience for fans of the iconic franchise.
