Proxi Details Emerge from Sims Creator

Will Wright, the mastermind behind The Sims, recently unveiled more details about his new AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, during a Twitch livestream. This highly anticipated title, initially announced in 2018, is finally taking shape, offering a unique gameplay experience centered around personal memories. Let's delve into the exciting features revealed.

A Deeply Personal Simulation

Developed by Gallium Studio, Proxi allows players to input their real-life memories—written in paragraph form—which the game then transforms into animated scenes. Players can customize these scenes using in-game assets to enhance the accuracy and emotional resonance of their recollections. Each new memory, termed a "mem," enhances the game's AI and adds to the player's "mind world," a navigable 3D environment built from hexagonal structures.

This mind world expands as more mems are added, becoming populated with Proxies representing friends and family. Memories can be arranged chronologically and linked to specific Proxies, creating a dynamic and interconnected representation of the player's life. Remarkably, these Proxies can even be exported to other game worlds, such as Minecraft and Roblox!

The core goal of Proxi is to create "magical connections with memories and bring them to life." Wright emphasized the game's intensely personal nature, stating, "I found myself getting continuously closer and closer to the player." He jokingly added, "It goes to figure that the more I can make a game about you, the more you'll like it."
