Pokémon TCG Pocket Is Dropping a Trade Feature and Space-Time Smackdown Expansion Soon

Get ready, Pokémon TCG Pocket fans! Exciting updates are on the horizon with the introduction of trading and the new Space-Time Smackdown expansion. Soon, you'll be able to swap cards with your friends directly in the game, adding a new layer of interaction and strategy to your gameplay experience.

When Is Pokémon TCG Pocket Dropping Space-Time Smackdown and Trading?

Mark your calendars! Trading will be available starting January 29th, 2025. Just a day later, on January 30th, the Space-Time Smackdown expansion will be released. This update also brings new covers for your digital binder and display board, featuring the iconic Pokémon Dialga, Palkia, and Darkrai.

The trading feature, eagerly awaited by many, will require two new items: trade hourglasses and trade tokens. You'll be able to trade cards up to rarity levels 1-4 and ★1. Initially, trading will be limited to cards from the Genetic Apex and Mythical Island expansions, with the promise of more tradeable cards in future updates.

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion dives into the Sinnoh region, bringing two new booster packs that highlight the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, alongside fresh card illustrations. Fans of the Sinnoh starters will be thrilled to see Lucario, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup featured in this expansion. For a deeper dive into what's coming, check out the video below.
