Author:Kristen Update:May 25,2025

Exciting news for Pokémon enthusiasts! The Pokémon Company has officially announced that the Pokémon Fossil Museum will make its North American debut at Chicago's Field Museum on May 22, 2026. Following its successful run in Japan, this unique exhibition will be the first time the museum travels outside of its home country, offering an intriguing blend of fantasy and science.

The Pokémon Fossil Museum isn't just a fun attraction; it's an educational journey that juxtaposes "fabricated Pokémon fossils" with "ancient lifeforms found in real-world fossils." Visitors will have the chance to explore vibrant Pokémon models displayed alongside extinct lifeforms from the Field Museum’s renowned collection. Imagine standing in awe next to scientific casts of Field Museum dinosaurs like SUE the T. rex and the Chicago Archaeopteryx, while also encountering Fossil Pokémon such as Tyrantrum and Archeops. The museum prompts visitors with a playful challenge: "How many differences (and similarities) will you spot, Trainers?"
