"Pokemon TCG Pocket Unveils Shining Revelry Expansion This Month"

Author:Kristen Update:May 17,2025

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I dive in headfirst whenever a new set is released, staying engaged as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening my packs, enjoying a Wonder Pick for fun, and then moving on until the next day. This cycle is set to kick off again with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, on March 27th.

This expansion will bring 110 new cards into the TCG Pocket universe, featuring a variety of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards we've all grown to adore. The highlight, hinted at by the expansion's name, is the inclusion of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique, differently colored versions of your favorite creatures. Imagine a yellow Lucario instead of blue, or a Pachirisu with a striking pink stripe.

The trailer, which you can view below, offers just a glimpse of what's in store. A standout is the new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and an attack called Steam Artillery that delivers a massive 150 damage. The downside? It requires a hefty five energy. However, its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy cards at once, making it a bit more manageable.

Another exciting addition is the Lucario Ex. Previously more of a support in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is ready for frontline combat. With 150 HP, it may not be the most robust, but its Aura Sphere attack is impressive, dealing 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and also hitting an opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30.

The trailer also teases other cards that, while not game-changers, are visually stunning. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on their way, each looking fantastic. Additionally, there's a breathtaking Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available. If you're interested, you can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
