The Pokémon Company confirms continued use of Pack Hourglasses in future Pokémon TCG Pocket expansions, dispelling rumors suggesting their obsolescence. This means players can continue accumulating these time-saving items.

Pokémon TCG Pocket, launched in October 2024, has seen the addition of the Mythical Island booster pack, featuring 68 new cards. While some players completed the initial Genetic Apex packs (226 cards across three packs) before this release, speculation arose that upcoming expansions might render Pack Hourglasses useless. However, The Pokémon Company's statement directly contradicts this.

Screen Rant reported The Pokémon Company's confirmation that Pack Hourglasses will continue to reduce booster pack opening delays by one hour per hourglass, regardless of the expansion. This refutes earlier suggestions of a new expansion-specific currency for hourglass functionality. Therefore, players can confidently maintain their existing stockpiles.

Pack Hourglasses: A Key Feature

Without Pack Hourglasses, players rely on Pack Stamina, replenishing every 12 hours, allowing for two pack openings daily. Hourglasses are obtainable through daily challenges and the daily Complimentary Item Set in the shop. Twelve hourglasses are needed to instantly open a pack. Pokémon TCG Pocket features various other in-game currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, different types of Tickets, Poke Gold, and Pack Points.

The initial concerns surrounding Pack Hourglasses' future have been alleviated by this official announcement. Given the game's success, further expansions and the continued relevance of Pack Hourglasses are highly likely.
