Pokémon GO: Black & White Kyurem Debut Globally

The legendary Pokémon Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are making their highly anticipated debut in the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event! These powerful Pokémon bring with them brand-new Adventure Effects designed to significantly boost your catching capabilities outside of battles. Don't forget to utilize the Tour Pass to maximize your rewards!

Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock unleashes electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, effectively immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them much easier to catch. White Kyurem's Ice Burn, on the other hand, slows down the target ring during encounters, dramatically increasing your chances of landing those coveted Excellent Throws. Both effects are extendable in 10-minute increments, allowing for a maximum duration of two hours at a time, and a total of 24 hours.

During the event, challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to acquire Fusion Energy. Fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem possessing Glaciate will result in Glaciate being replaced by Freeze Shock or Ice Burn. It's important to note that this move replacement is temporary; Glaciate will return once the Pokémon are separated. Currently, these moves cannot be learned via Charged TMs or Elite Charged TMs.

You'll also get to choose between two event badges – the Black Version (featuring Reshiram) or the White Version (featuring Zekrom). Choosing the Black Version will reward you with Reshiram-themed Special Research and Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate. The White Version offers Zekrom-themed Special Research, and Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem will also know Glaciate.

For accelerated progress, consider purchasing the Tour Pass. This unlocks additional rewards and boosts the effectiveness of your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or expedite your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Reaching Major Milestones will boost your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
