Pokémon Go will host the Wayfarer Challenge in Chile and India, giving you a chance to nominate landmarks as PokéStops and Gyms

Niantic has recently unveiled the Wayfarer Challenge in Pokémon Go, providing trainers in Chile and India with an exciting opportunity to enhance their local gaming environment while earning exclusive rewards. By participating in the review and approval of Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform, players can help introduce new PokéStops and Gyms to the game, all while working towards achieving special milestone rewards.

The Pokémon Go Wayfarer Challenge is scheduled to take place from March 7th to 9th in Chile and from March 10th to 12th in India. During this event, trainers can nominate real-world locations such as landmarks, sculptures, and street art to potentially become PokéStops and Gyms in the game.

Contributing to the review process helps achieve community milestone goals. If the community successfully resolves 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the community reach 10,000 approvals, the rewards will upgrade to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.

To participate, players must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users to the platform must complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations.

Eligibility for the event requires that you have recently played in Chile or India or have set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To be eligible for rewards, you must review at least 50 nominations, and at least one of the milestone goals must be met.

In addition to the Wayfarer Challenge, the PokéStop Challenge event will run from March 9th to 12th, exclusively in Chile and India. During this event, players can earn 3x XP for visiting new PokéStops for the first time, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and encounter increased Kecleon spawns. Event Field Research will offer encounters with Eevee, while Timed Research provides opportunities to catch other Pokémon.
