PoE 2 Mercenary Level Guide: Level Up Your Mercs Fast

Optimal Skills & Support Gems

Early game relies on Fragmentation Shot (excellent close-range damage) and Permafrost Shot (freezing for added damage). Unlocking Explosive Grenade, Gas Grenade, and Explosive Shot significantly boosts power. Explosive Shot detonates other grenades for massive AoE damage. Ripwire Ballista provides a distraction, while Glacial Bolt helps control crowds. Oil Grenade is useful but generally outclassed by Gas Grenade. Galvanic Shards is a good low-risk option for hordes. Rarity, Movement Speed, and Attack Speed are helpful but not essential. A Bombard Crossbow adds an extra grenade projectile, significantly boosting damage.
