Pirate Software Ejected from OnlyFangs WoW Guild

Summary

  • Pirate Software was expelled from the OnlyFangs guild following a disastrous Dire Maul North run that resulted in Hardcore deaths.
  • His refusal to accept responsibility for the incident led to his removal by Guild Master Sodapoppin.

Pirate Software has been removed from the World of Warcraft streamer guild OnlyFangs due to a failed Dire Maul North run. Dire Maul, recently added to the World of Warcraft Anniversary servers, has been the cause of several Hardcore deaths within OnlyFangs.

Before the official introduction of Hardcore servers to the World of Warcraft Classic client in August 2023, players had already set their own no-death rules. The popularity of these servers waned until the November 2024 addition of Anniversary servers, which revitalized interest in World of Warcraft Classic, leaving the original Classic servers with a diminished player base. Since their introduction, numerous Hardcore players have met their demise, though some have successfully reached level 60 under these challenging conditions. The most recent victims from OnlyFangs are Sara and Snupy, and as a result, Sodapoppin has banned the player responsible, Pirate Software, from the guild.

Multiple social media posts confirm that Pirate Software was expelled from OnlyFangs by Guild Master Sodapoppin, who issued a statement via Discord about the decision. The statement revealed that a significant number of guild members felt uneasy continuing to play with Pirate Software after the deaths of two members during a Dire Maul North run. The incident occurred when the group engaged a boss before clearing a pack of Gordok ogres. After a member suggested retreating to reset the enemies, Pirate Software left the group during the escape. Despite the possibility of remaining in the guild under standard OnlyFangs rules, Pirate Software chose to defend his actions, leading to the deaths of Sara and Snupy. A video documenting the event is available, though it contains strong language.

This is Why Pirate Software Was Kicked From the World of Warcraft Guild OnlyFangs

The primary criticism against Pirate Software was his refusal to accept responsibility for the Hardcore deaths, particularly for not utilizing crowd control abilities effectively. During a review of the dungeon run, popular Twitch streamer Sodapoppin highlighted that Pirate Software could have used Blizzard rank 1 to slow down the dangerous enemies without exhausting his mana reserves. Other OnlyFangs members, like Mizkif, have suggested that Pirate Software's expulsion was also due to threats he made towards fellow streamers post-incident. Pirate Software responded to his removal on Twitter, arguing that the situation was not managed appropriately.

As several members have been removed from OnlyFangs since its reformation on the Anniversary server Doomhowl, some may choose to form their own groups. With Blizzard continuing to update World of Warcraft Classic with patches true to the Vanilla experience, more OnlyFangs members could face similar fates as new dungeons and raids are introduced.
