Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5 Years with Retro Nintendo Console Theme

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops by bringing back some nostalgic gadgets to the game. The festivities will kick off with a new event starting on May 1st, 2025.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has introduced a variety of fun decor, from Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles to those sporting Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is taking a trip down memory lane by introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s.

Adding to the nostalgia, a Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will also be available. This is a tribute to Nintendo’s early days when they were primarily known for making playing cards, long before they ventured into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo’s vintage playing card decks.

The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving players an entire month to engage in the missions and collect unique Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear. Destroying these mushrooms can yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

The May flowers in Pikmin Bloom can bloom into a variety of beautiful options, including carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses, depending on whether you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.

Additionally, a nectar update will ensure that fruit from mushrooms collected during May will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.

There are plenty of other exciting events lined up, including Community Day. Make sure to download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and get ready to celebrate the 3.5th anniversary in style.
