Palworld Update 0.5.0 Adds Crossplay Across All Platforms, Blueprint Upgrading, Photo Mode and More

Palworld's latest update, version 0.5.0, introduces a host of exciting new features that are set to enhance the gaming experience across all platforms. One of the most significant additions is crossplay, allowing players on different platforms to enjoy the game together seamlessly. This update also introduces the Global Palbox, a feature that lets players store Pal data and transfer Pals between different worlds, adding a new layer of flexibility to the game.

A new storage system, the Dimensional Pal Storage, has been implemented, boasting 10 times the capacity of the regular Palbox. This system can be used both by guild members and as personal storage with customizable privacy settings, offering players more control over their in-game assets. Additionally, the update brings a cosmetic armor system, allowing players to change their character's appearance without impacting armor stats, enhancing personalization and style in the game.

Other notable additions include a photo mode for capturing stunning in-game moments, a drafting table for upgrading blueprints, and dedicated servers for Mac users, ensuring a smoother experience across different devices. Developer Pocketpair is also working on adding dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version, which will be released in the future.

Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players. The studio has laid out an ambitious content roadmap for 2025, including an "ending scenario" and more new content, promising continued excitement for fans of the creature-catching survival game. Palworld's initial launch on Steam and Game Pass for Xbox and PC broke sales and concurrent player number records, leading Pocketpair to form Palworld Entertainment with Sony to expand the IP and bring the game to PS5.

Amidst its success, Palworld faces a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, who claim that the game infringes on multiple patent rights. Pocketpair has responded by adjusting certain gameplay mechanics, such as how players summon Pals, and is prepared to defend its position in court.

・Buildings can now be placed even if they overlap with a Pal
・When connecting foundations or roofs, the connected pieces will now automatically align in the same direction
・Assigning an Ice Pal to the Flea Market will slow down item decay in storage and sales

・Some weapons that dealt ultra-high damage to trees will no longer drop items upon destruction

▼Balance Adjustments
・Adjusted elemental chest rewards. Dog Coins will always drop from these chests and they also have a small chance of containing work suitability books. (Existing chests in current worlds will retain old drop tables; new ones will follow the updated table.)
・Increased EXP gained from defeating the Attack Chopper
・Increased the DPS of Flamethrowers
・Adjusted the default attack used by Electric and Dark Pals when all active skills are on cooldown, making them more in line with the other elements
・Some human NPCs now have work suitability and work animations when assigned tasks at a base
・Summoned raid bosses can no longer damage other bases
・Added Water attribute to Dumud
・NPC event rewards have been adjusted. To maintain fairness, all NPC conversation logs have been reset, allowing players to claim rewards again!
