Oscar 2025 Nominations: Pérez, Wicked, Brutalist Lead

The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez is making history! With a record-breaking 13 nominations, this Spanish-language crime thriller, directed by Jacques Audiard, leads the pack, earning more nods than any other non-English language film.

Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominations on January 23rd during a live presentation on the Oscars YouTube channel. Emilia Pérez's impressive showing includes nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (Jacques Audiard), and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón).

Hot on its heels are Wicked and The Brutalist, each receiving 10 nominations. Conclave and A Complete Unknown follow with eight nominations apiece.
