During the PlayStation State of Play, Capcom presented a captivating trailer that showcased the dynamic sword-based action of *Onimusha: Way of the Sword*. Despite the 2026 release date, the game already looks promising with its intense combat and formidable foes.

*Onimusha: Way of the Sword* will feature Miyamoto Musashi, a renowned Japanese swordsman whose legendary skills with the blade are faithfully represented in the game. Not only does Musashi exhibit unparalleled sword mastery, but the trailer also highlights his roguish and comedic personality, adding depth to his character.

According to Capcom's press release, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* is described as a dark fantasy action game that brings to life one of Japan's most celebrated historical figures. Interestingly, Musashi's in-game appearance is modeled after the iconic Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, who famously portrayed Musashi in samurai films.

Set in a Kyoto overrun by an evil force called Malic, which is summoning Hell and its denizens into Japan, *Onimusha: Way of the Sword* promises a gripping narrative. This marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades. To build anticipation, Capcom has also announced a remaster of *Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny*, set to release on May 23, 2025.
